A carer is anyone, including children and adults who look after a family member, partner or friend who needs help because of their illness, frailty, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction and cannot cope without their support. The care they give is unpaid
Dealing with children who are Orphaned Abandoned and surrendered (OAS)children with special needs(CwSN) is a great task. The carers who deal with them could be a caretaker at care homes, a person who runs a child care institute, parent of an adopted child, foster parents, or any other hidden human resources involved in adoption, rehabilitation processes across this OAS care system.
PACT INDIA intends to build their skills that would facilitate a strong and empathetic care system with the children with special needs focus. Their skills and knowledge would be built through structured training. This creates a viable system for the future in dealing with any child with special needs by understanding their specific likes and dislikes.
This program is also a carer-centric program that is built after understanding the needs of the carers who had dealt with such children in various aspects. Any parent wishing to adopt a special child or have already adopted, care homes, special adoption agencies or foster homes that wish to nurture a child with special needs can opt for this training program.
