Nithya’s (Name changed) Journey to Sensory Acceptance with PACT INDIA
On this National Girl Child Day, we celebrate the incredible journey of Nithya, a young girl who bravely faced and conquered her sensory challenges with the unwavering support of PACT INDIA.
Nithya exhibited characteristics of a sensory processing problem, specifically in the area of tactile sensory sensitivity. Her sensitivity to touch, texture, and certain fabrics caused her discomfort and stress. Everyday tasks that many take for granted were significant challenges for her.
At PACT INDIA, our dedicated rehabilitation therapists crafted a personalized intervention plan to help Nithya overcome these sensory hurdles. One innovative and gentle method they introduced was cotton ball painting. Using paintbrushes to dip and paint cotton balls in colors like green and brown, Nithya was gradually exposed to various textures in a non-threatening and engaging way. This activity not only stimulated her tactile sense but also fostered her creativity and confidence.
Through consistent and compassionate therapy, Nithya’s progress has been remarkable. She has learned to navigate and accept different textures, significantly reducing her sensory sensitivity. This transformation has allowed her to embrace daily tasks with newfound ease and joy.
On this special day, we honor Nithya’s resilience and the dedicated team at PACT INDIA who have made such a profound difference in her life. Our commitment to holistic support ensures that every child, like Nithya, can shine brightly and thrive.
Let’s continue to stand together, empowering every girl child to overcome their unique challenges and reach their fullest potential.
