As the year draws to a close, we at PACT are filled with gratitude and pride for the incredible journey we’ve had in 2024. This year marked numerous milestones, collaborative partnerships, and a deepening impact on the children and communities we serve.
January: A Dream Come True
We began the year with a significant achievement: the inauguration of the first inclusive rehab care center at Govt. Shishumandira, a special adoption center in Karnataka. This dream-come-true moment set the tone for 2024, as we launched 9 such spaces across various Child Care Institutions (CCIs) and care homes, blending sensory-integrated spaces with accessible infrastructure to create a more inclusive environment for children.
Our partnership with Amar Seva Sangam resulted in a groundbreaking app designed to empower children with special needs. With a range of assessments and developmental plans, this app is a game-changer, and we are proud to be part of it.
New Faces and Collaborations
This year, we welcomed a talented social media team, amplifying our efforts to reach more people with our mission. We also had the privilege of working with four interns from Holy Cross College and Malankara Catholic College, of which 2 contribute to our team as employees. Together, we continued to push for the betterment of children’s lives in CCIs.
Empowering Caregivers & Personalized Care Plans
One of our most important initiatives was the Individual Care Plan (ICP) training for 5 Bosco homes, ensuring holistic care tailored to each child’s needs. This aligns with the JJ Act 2015, highlighting the importance of individualized attention in CCIs.
In partnership with 11 CCIs, we conducted COHORT 2, a program aimed at enhancing child welfare and development. We also focused on strengthening the role of caregivers through our appreciation program, celebrating their hard work and dedication with gifts as tokens of gratitude.
Achievements & Recognition
A proud moment came when PACT secured 1st position in the Niranthara Sahayak Program, led by Dhwani Foundation. This achievement, a testament to our commitment to continuous improvement, was made possible by our entire team, especially Mr. Santhosh, whose leadership helped us reach this milestone.
We were also thrilled to announce that we successfully completed our ISO 9001:2015 surveillance audit, reinforcing our commitment to high-quality services.
Training and Skill Development
Internal training continued to be a cornerstone of our success. From our General Secretary, Mr. V. R. Nakkina, to Associate Co-Lead Mr. Pristy Paul, the internal workshops ensured that our team stayed sharp and knowledgeable, providing the best care for children in need.
Expanding Partnerships & New Talent
This year, we were grateful for new partnerships, including with Samvaad Institute of Speech and Hearing, which helped improve children’s development in speech, language, and swallowing. We also teamed up with ECHO India who focuses on capacity building in healthcare, education and other SDGs.
We welcomed seven new team members, including physiotherapists and a psychologist, further enhancing our multidisciplinary approach to childcare.
Stakeholder Engagement & Recognition
PACT had the honor of participating in the annual state-level stakeholder consultation on early education and interventions, a critical platform for shaping policies for children with disabilities. We also proudly screened four new CCIs, two of which are under the Government of Karnataka.
Looking Ahead
As we close the year, we’re excited to share that PACT is now GuideStar India certified, joining over 12,000 NGOs in India’s largest and most reliable online repository for social impact.
A Joyous Celebration
The year ended on a high note with our first-ever Christmas celebration at PACT. It was a beautiful moment of joy, unity, and appreciation for our dedicated staff, who continue to make a difference every day.
As we look forward to the new year, we are energized by the progress we’ve made and excited about the future. Here’s to more impact, growth, and positive change in 2025!
