At PACT, we believe that the holistic development of a child begins at home. Whether it’s physical, emotional, social, or behavioral growth, the family plays an irreplaceable role in shaping a child’s future—especially for children with special needs. While direct work with children is essential, supporting and empowering their caregivers is equally, if not more, important.

Recognizing this, PACT initiated a Parent Sensitization Program in collaboration with two of our partner Child Care Institutions (CCIs)—Dayaniketan (Orione Seva) for Children with Special Needs and Grace Foundation Charitable Trust.

This program was designed to bring parents and caregivers together for an open and supportive dialogue about the strengths and challenges faced by their children. It was a heartfelt and eye-opening gathering, full of learning and connection.

Led by our dedicated team, the session focused on two key areas:

  • Behavior Modification at Home, facilitated by Ms. Anisha, offered practical strategies to help caregivers manage and positively influence their children’s behavior.
  • Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), sensitively addressed by Ms. Bharani, highlighted ways in which parents can support their children’s independence and skill-building in daily routines.

The session wasn’t just informative—it was interactive and deeply engaging. Through a series of hands-on activities and open discussions, caregivers were able to connect with one another, reflect on their journeys, and share the unique needs and triumphs of their children.

This collective space of empathy, education, and empowerment fostered a sense of community that we at PACT are proud to have been a part of.

We extend our sincere thanks to Dayaniketan and Grace Foundation for their collaboration and support in making this initiative a success. And above all, we are grateful to the resilient parents and caregivers who opened their hearts and minds to learning and growth.

As we move forward, PACT remains committed to building bridges between children, caregivers, and the community, ensuring that no child’s potential goes unseen and every caregiver feels supported.

Together, we can nurture not just children—but entire families.
